Bredonborough Thanks amp gratitude to

10.12    Bredonborough.

Thanks & gratitude to those kind people who have sent Seasonal good wishes in both analogue & e- formats.

A very cold beginning-day. The top news item in the UK is the weather. Snow has heavily-landed in the North & is forecast to move south tomorrow. Nippy shopping on the currently unsnowed High Street I…

The car is loaded & shortly to leave for Wilson World HQ. Steven has relocated Wilson World HQ from Hemel Hempstead to Hemel Hempstead.

Leaving Bredonborough c. 10.30 as snow was falling heavily. The Minx called at noon, while I was en route, to say that Bredonborough had been almost cut off. This was not good news for someone driving to Sheffield.

Arriving at Motel Modesto 12.45, checking in & off to Wilson World HQ, getting lost in the back roads. Steven walked to the top of Wilson Lane to find me, eventually arriving c. 13.20. Begin as you intend to continue…

Our intended work this week is to mix / re-mix Poseidon in 5.1 & stereo, and re-mix Islands & Larks’ in stereo; both of the latter have already been mixed in 5.1. Poseidon has the disadvantage that we have not been able to find the original pre-bounce tracks. So, we can’t access the original individual mellotron parts. The main mellotron parts on Poseidon – the song is mixed together with acoustic guitar on a stereo pair; drums & bass are also on a stereo pair. Devil’s Triangle is missing lots of its constituent parts. Nevertheless, we have been able to significantly improve Peace, Pictures of a City, Cadence, Cat Food & Groon I…

… and Poseidon – the song is also helped, but not radically so.

Leaving 17.30. More tomorrow.

T called towards the end of the session. Getting out of Bredonborough was hard but, with John driving, they made it to Sheffield arriving just before 16.00; and 10 minutes later got a call telling them the show had been cancelled - because of a power cut at the theatre.

A welcome call from Jakko at 17.45, reporting in on today’s session at Studio Jakko with Mel; and offering to drive me to Wilson World HQ tomorrow in his 4x4, if the weather forecast is accurate.
